Volume, Pressure, and Force Estimator

Petersen Multi-Flex plugs "generally" do not slip in a water pipeline if the inflated contact length is approximately 1-1/2 times the diameter and the inflation pressure twice the pipeline pressure. However the coefficient of friction can vary significantly depending on the product in the pipeline and the smoothness of the pipe. This requires any inflatable plugs to be blocked or tethered against slipping when slipping may cause damage or injury. In any case personnel should "never" be down stream of any inflatable plugs.
